Since April 2013, older or mobility-impaired people in Aidlingen have had the opportunity to be picked up from home by a minibus, taken shopping, and then brought back home. Other trips, such as visits to the doctor or medical treatments – even beyond the municipal boundaries – can also be arranged by phone in advance. The “Bürgerbusle” is a joint initiative of the municipality, the Diakonie Aidlingen, and the company FEMA, which operates the rides and also offers additional household services for seniors. The minibus is driven by volunteers.
With the Bürgerbus Welzheimer Wald, mobility-impaired citizens can travel within the local area of the municipalities of Alfdorf and Kaisersbach and the town of Welzheim, as well as to Walkersbach. The surrounding areas of Gschwend, Mutlangen, Lorch, and Spraitbach are also served. Passengers may use the bus for shopping, medical appointments (except when the health insurance covers the trip), attending cultural events, or visiting friends or relatives.
The DRK Bürgerbus operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Passengers should register their planned trips no later than the previous day, or by Friday at 12:00 pm for trips before or during the weekend, by calling 07182/8045 242. No fare is charged for using the bus, but donations are welcome.
Every Wednesday from 9:30 am, the shopping bus picks up residents at their doorstep for shopping and drives to the Altbach weekly market and the industrial area (Aldi, Lidl, dm). The shopping bus is an initiative of the municipality of Altbach and the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe. Registration is done by phone no later than 12:00 pm directly with Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe at 0711/937878-77 oder 0800/584 4636. A ticket booklet with 10 rides is available for €20.00 at the Altbach library, the municipal cash office, and at the stationery shop/post office Sauter.
Whether to the doctor, shopping, or a coffee get-together – the E-Bürgerauto LORENZ basically transports all citizens within the association area, which includes the municipalities of Aichelberg, Bad Boll, Dürnau, Gammelshausen, Hattenhofen, and Zell u. A. The focus is on people with limited mobility, in order to improve their independence and mobility. LORENZ picks up residents and brings them back home afterwards.
The volunteer drivers operate from Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Rides can be booked on weekdays between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm by calling ✆ 0152 2208 4105. The service is donation-based.
The BürgerMobil Berglen is available for residents of the municipality of Berglen when public transport services are lacking or when passengers have difficulty using the regular public transport system. The BürgerMobil operates during the day from Monday to Friday. Rides must be booked at least two days in advance by calling 07195 9757-97 or by emailing buergermobil(at)berglen.de.
This transport service takes Bittenfeld residents to go shopping, to the doctor, or to the Rems-Murr Clinic in Winnenden. The rides take place on all weekdays by individual arrangement. Interested residents can book a ride by calling 07146/538 2549 or by emailing buergerbus-bittenfeld(at)web.de at least three working days in advance. No fare is charged, although the volunteers appreciate a contribution toward expenses.
Since October 2015, older and mobility-impaired citizens of Bondorf have had access to the “Bürgerbus Bondorf.” Volunteer drivers transport passengers free of charge to the doctor, for a coffee get-together, or for shopping. The Bondorf Bürgerbus operates every Thursday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Reservations can be made through the municipal administration by Wednesday at 4:00 pm at 07457/9393-0.
The service is aimed at elderly and dependent residents of the municipality of Böhmenkirch.
In the municipality of Burgstetten, the so-called shopping bus began its first shopping trip at the beginning of March 2020. The municipal administration and the local DRK chapter work hand in hand on this service. Anyone who wants to ride will be picked up and brought back home. Every Thursday, the bus leaves at 10:00 am for the Rewe supermarket in Nellmersbach. Registration should be made no later than the day before by calling 07191/69414. The shopping bus has eight seats available.
With the “Deizisauer Mobilo”, older and physically impaired residents of Deizisau can use a minibus on Monday and Thursday mornings to go shopping or visit the cemetery. Interested individuals can be picked up from home, taken to their shopping destination, and then brought back home free of charge. The service is organized by volunteers from the “Zehntscheuer Deizisau” as well as the senior citizens’ advisory office, which welcomes small donations when the service is used. Registration for “Mobilo” must be made by 8:00 am on the desired day of travel with the senior citizens’ advisory office at 07153/22049.
Since April 18, 2013, older or mobility-impaired people in Dettingen/Teck have been able to be picked up from home by a minibus, taken shopping, and brought back again. The “Bürgerbus” project is a joint initiative of the Forum Altern, the Nursing Association, and the municipality of Dettingen. The Bürgerbus runs every Thursday (from 9:00 am). In addition to shopping trips, rides can also be taken to the cemetery or to events organized by churches and the municipality, such as seniors’ afternoons.
The transport service is available to Dettingen residents of all ages. The minibus is always staffed by two volunteers who support passengers with limited mobility. The Dettingen transport service is free of charge, and the providers welcome small donations. Advance registration is requested. Interested persons should pre-register Monday to Friday between 9:30 am and 11:00 am with Forum Altern at 07021/93 93 74.
Every Thursday, the Ehningen Bürgerbus picks up older residents who are not mobile within the town and/or have difficulty walking longer distances from their homes and takes them shopping. People with severe physical impairments (e.g., wheelchair users) cannot be transported on the Bürgerbus for technical reasons. Boarding the bus should be possible independently (rollators/walkers can be taken along).
On Thursdays, the Bürgerbus runs from 9:00 am to the town center for shopping or other errands; from 2:00 pm, trips to the Waldfriedhof (forest cemetery) and the library are offered. Registration must be made by Wednesday 12:00 pm with the Office for Family, Youth, Seniors and Social Affairs at 07034/121-124. The fare is €0.50 per boarding.
The Senior Shopping and Experience Shuttle is a supplementary service to public transport, offered by Aktiv für Senioren in Filderstadt e.V. (ASF), for older citizens who need assistance traveling to shops and cultural facilities.
The shopping shuttle picks up less mobile older people in Filderstadt at home, enables them to shop in their districts—especially on market days—and then brings them safely and comfortably back home with their full bags. Interested persons must order the service by phone at the Diakoniestation auf den Fildern no later than 4:00 pm the day before at ✆ 0711/797 338 0.
The experience shuttle takes passengers to selected events, e.g., at the Filharmonie in Filderstadt, and after an enjoyable cultural or artistic experience, brings them back home. The events for which this service is offered are listed in ASF’s annual program. Bookings for the experience shuttle must be made at least one week before the event at the ASF office: Stadtverwaltung Filderstadt – Department for Family, Schools and Associations at 0711/700 342 0.
The municipality of Heiningen offers the transport service HUNO for its mobility-impaired residents.
The service is available on weekdays, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. HUNO can be used for visits to doctors and therapists, shopping, official appointments, and visits to the cemetery within a radius of about 7 km.

Together with the local transport company Taxi FALK, the town of Holzgerlingen offers a transport service for senior citizens. The service is aimed at older residents both with and without their own car. The Seniorenmobil picks passengers up at home, takes them from A to B, and, if needed, brings them back again.
The Seniorenmobil is available every Tuesday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and on Thursdays in even calendar weeks from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The service can be arranged by calling 07031/9876 990. A single ride costs €2.50.
In Ingersheim, there is also an advertising-financed social transport service that picks up mobility-impaired seniors from their homes and brings them back again. The senior citizens’ bus provides shuttle services to senior events and leisure activities in the community. In addition, regular shopping trips are offered.
Those who wish to use the service can contact the senior citizens’ office (Thursday between 8:30 am and 11:00 am) and register their trip request by calling 07142/770 034. No fare is charged.
In Jettingen, seniors who need to go shopping, to the doctor, the pharmacy, the hairdresser, or the town hall, or who want to visit acquaintances and have no other way to get there, can register by Monday at 4:00 pm with the municipality of Jettingen at ✆ 07452/744-11. Every Tuesday between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, the minibus with volunteer drivers is on the road, picking up older residents at home and bringing them back home afterward. The vehicle is equipped with a lifting device for wheelchairs, so wheelchair users can also ride. The transport service costs €1.00 per trip. This offer is provided by the municipality of Jettingen in cooperation with the German Red Cross.
Since October 2016, a “Seniorenmobil” has been available in Kernen. This service is for residents of Kernen aged 60 and above and can be used anywhere within the municipality. Walkers/rollators can be taken on the bus.

Mobility-impaired persons have the opportunity on Wednesdays to use the FlitzerLE service to be driven into town for shopping. The volunteer drivers pick passengers up at home, take them to the shops of their choice, and bring them back home again. The volunteers also provide assistance with carrying the shopping. The service is free of charge, but donations are welcome. S’FlitzerLE is based on an initiative of the city and the city seniors’ council. Registration is possible on Mondays from 8:30 to 10:30 am by calling 0711 1600-308.
The Bürgerbus’le for Lenningen and Owen is operated by volunteers and enables mobility-impaired residents of the two municipalities to go shopping together with support.
A maximum of 5 people can ride, and all passengers are brought back directly to their doorstep. Registration is done by phone with the Lenningen municipal administration at 07026 60912. Rides are free of charge, but donations are requested.
With the RufBus, seniors from Markgröningen, Unterriexingen, Talhausen, Hardt- and Schönbühlhof can get to the town center, as well as to various supermarkets, doctors, pharmacies, banks, and the cemetery—and, afterwards, comfortably back home.

The vehicle named after Neuhausen’s heraldic animal (the lion) picks up seniors or people with limited mobility from their homes on Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (with prior registration) and takes them to their desired destination within the municipality. The minibus belongs to the Catholic parish, and the municipality of Neuhausen auf den Fildern supports the project.

Since March 21, 2019, a social transport service has been available for Notzingen and Wellingen. The new pick-up service, which collects mobility-impaired residents of Notzingen and Wellingen from their homes and brings them back again, takes passengers on Thursdays between 9:00 and 11:00 am for shopping, to a doctor’s appointment, or for example to the bank. Anyone who wants to use the service must register by the day before at the citizens’ office at 07021/970750.
The Bürgermobil Plüderhausen operates Monday to Friday (except public holidays) between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, transporting passengers with physical limitations within a 25-kilometer radius. It provides rides for shopping, doctor’s appointments, visits to the bank, and similar needs. Residents are picked up directly from home, and walkers/rollators can also be taken along. Appointments are scheduled through the town hall central office at 07181 8009 1003 during opening hours. No fare is charged. However, donations to help cover operating costs are welcome.
The electric community car “Rechi” mainly serves the older population in Rechberghausen. It operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and costs €1.50 per ride per person. Rides should be booked by 4:00 pm on the previous working day directly with the driver at 0175 3403393.
The initiative “Von Menschen zu Mensch” has set up a transport service so that mobility-impaired citizens of Remseck can go shopping. These residents are picked up at home by a minibus and taken to the desired shopping centers within the town of Remseck. The shopping trip can last about 45 minutes. If necessary, the purchases (except for crates of drinks) will be carried into the house or apartment.
On Wednesdays from 9:00 to 11:00 am, the minibus can be booked for the following Friday by calling 07146/281-8016 or 07146/4072434. The rides are free of charge.
The Bürgerrufauto is available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, and on Thursdays and Fridays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. It takes you within Renningen and Malmsheim from your doorstep to your destination and back again.

In Rudersberg, a Bürgermobil has been set up so that mobility-impaired residents can get to doctor’s appointments, go shopping, visit government offices, and reach other facilities. Residents are picked up at home and driven to their desired destinations within Rudersberg (or to the Schorndorf districts of Haubersbronn and Miedelsbach). The Bürgermobil operates Monday to Friday between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Bookings can be made Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for the following working day at 07183/305 9919 (Diakoniestation Wieslauftal/Welzheimer Wald). The rides are free of charge.
The association Gute Nachbarschaft im Mühlenviertel e.V. offers a transport service for mobility-impaired and elderly people in the Schorndorf area. Rides can be booked by the previous day at the latest, Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 11:30 am, by calling 07181/8877 267. The travel costs consist of a volunteer allowance, calculated based on the kilometers driven and the duration of the assistance. The drivers are volunteers and are qualified through a first aid course, an update on traffic regulations, and driver safety training.
The Sommerrain local bus is a minibus operated by the Red Cross (DRK) and driven by volunteers. It takes mobility-impaired people to go shopping (REWE, Schmidener Straße) and brings them back home again. The DRK bus departs on Tuesdays at 10:00 am from the turning area of the “Haus in Sommerrain”. Passengers can also board at the Catholic Church Heilig Kreuz at 10:15 am. The return trip takes place after shopping. The service is free of charge (donations are welcome), and no registration is required.
With the Tammer “Bürgerbus,” the municipality aims to support older, ill, or disabled people with a mobility service that is free of charge for seniors, so they can remain active within the community.
The bus runs on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month with trips to the “Treffpunkt OASE”: pickup (before 2:00 pm) and return (after 5:00 pm) by personal arrangement with the social services center. In addition, every Thursday there is one trip to and from the cemetery: Hohenstange – Tamm town center – Cemetery – Hohenstange; pickup and return by individual arrangement.

Since May 5, 2014, seniors from Weil der Stadt and its districts have been able to use the Seniorenmobil Weil der Stadt for shopping, doctor visits, and local events within the town area. The service is available Monday to Friday between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm and is intended for seniors who can present a pensioner ID and do not own a car. Trips must be booked two days in advance with the Sozialstation Weil der Stadt at 07033/2061.
Since September 16, 2019, residents of Weissach im Tal and its districts have been able to use the “Bürgerbus Weissach” for shopping, doctor and hospital visits, visiting friends and acquaintances, as well as attending cultural events within the municipality. This also applies to doctor visits in Backnang or at the Winnenden hospital. The service is available Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. On these weekdays, trips can be booked for one of the following days between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm by calling 0163-6353 121 or by email. The transport service is aimed at people who cannot use public transport, or only with significant difficulty, as well as those who do not own a vehicle or cannot drive it due to a temporary handicap. The rides are free of charge.
The social transport service “s’Busle” of the Catholic Social Station enables mobility-impaired seniors aged 60 and over to take rides within Wernau twice a week. The service operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. After prior registration, passengers are picked up directly at their doorstep, and walking aids or rollators can also be taken on board. Registration must be made by 12:00 pm on the previous day at 07153/928 2288.
