Further information about VVS BWeit

VVS BWeit uses the state's CiCoBW systems

VVS BWeit uses the uniform state-wide check-in/check-out system of the state of Baden-Württemberg (CiCoBW) with fares from all transport associations and the bwtarif. After a simple check-in, public transport can be used throughout Baden-Württemberg. At the end of the journey, after a manual or automatic check-out, the price is calculated as the best price for the day. For an onward or return journey, the previous day's journeys are taken into account when calculating the price. VVS BWeit is the first officially licensed CiCoBW app in the country.

All questions & answers

Where can I drive with the app?

The BWeit app is valid throughout the state of Baden-Württemberg. Further information on the area of validity can be found on the CiCoBW-Page of bwegt.

How does the app work?

After check-in, the VVS BWeit app locates the cell phone at regular intervals in order to compare the journey with the timetable data using this information. Location data and activity/fitness data are evaluated for this purpose. In addition, the app searches for Bluetooth signals to detect so-called beacons in order to determine the exact location, especially underground. This then results in a ticket.

Welches Ticketsortiment wird berücksichtigt?

To determine the best daily price, the following offers are taken into account in the VVS area: short-distance ticket, single ticket for adults (mobile ticket), single day ticket (mobile/print ticket), city ticket for 1 person, and 1st class supplement for single journeys. Further fare information can be found in the VVS joint fare. For journeys in other associations or the bwtarif, the ticket ranges defined by the respective associations are taken into account. The current version of the joint fare regulations of the CiCoBW fare partners can be found on the  CiCoBW page of bwegt.

When do I have to pay?

Billing takes place once a day. Following billing, a purchase receipt is sent to the billing address. This contains a link that can be used to download an invoice. The best price calculation depends on the respective network. Currently, the best daily price is available throughout Baden-Württemberg.

Gibt es weitere CiCo-Apps für das VVS-Gebiet?

Yes, information about other apps can be found on the CiCoBW page of bwegt.
