Young people can travel throughout Germany for around 1.30 euros a day, or around 473 euros a year. The ticket combines the advantages of the Deutschland-Ticket with a low price for young people.

  • Valid around the clock on local transport (2nd class) throughout Germany.
  • Annual subscription with monthly debit.
  • For anyone up to and including the age of 20 without separate proof of education.
  • For all those entitled to educational transport from 21 up to and including 26 years of age (school pupils, students, trainees, interns, participants in the Federal Voluntary Service or voluntary social year, etc.) with appropriate proof up to and including 26 years of age.

The discounted Deutschland-Ticket JugendBW is aimed at:

  • Children and young people up to the age of 21
  • as well as school pupils, students, trainees, and volunteers up to the age of 27 who are in education and can provide proof of this.
  • An important requirement is that they live in Baden-Württemberg or attend school or university in Baden-Württemberg.

The Deutschland-Ticket JugendBW is valid throughout Germany. It is a personal ticket that cannot be transferred to other people. Therefore, it is not possible to purchase a TicketPlus. It is also not possible to upgrade to 1st class.

Was kostet das Deutschland-Ticket JugendBW?

The price of the Deutschland-Ticket JugendBW rose on January 1, 2026, in line with the regular Deutschland-Ticket. The monthly price is now €45. Even after the adjustment, the ticket remains an attractive and inexpensive option for young people in Baden-Württemberg to use local transport throughout Germany.

The price adjustment was made in consultation with the County Council and City Council, which are contributing financially to the ticket together with the state. Baden-Württemberg covers 70 percent of the costs incurred by the ticket, while the municipalities cover the remaining 30 percent. This cooperation ensures that affordable mobility for young people remains possible even in times of rising costs.

Wo gilt das Deutschland-Ticket JugendBW?

The Deutschland-Ticket JugendBW is valid on all buses and trains in the local public transport network in Germany. This includes all IRE, MEX, RE, RB, S-Bahn, tram/light rail, and bus services. The ticket is not valid on long-distance trains (e.g., ICE, EC, IC, Flixtrain, TGV, etc.) or long-distance buses.

Exception: Long-distance trains on the IC line Stuttgart – Singen (- Konstanz) can also be used with the Deutschland-Ticket.
