Worth knowing

  • The VVS-Rider makes it possible to get from A to B comfortably and safely without a fixed timetable and without having to walk long distances to the stop.
  • The VVS Rider can be requested via the free VVS Rider app or alternatively by phone at
    +49 711 9952 1077.

  2. Enter your start and destination and select the seats you require.
  3. Confirm your booking and wait.
  4. Check in on the VVS Rider and off you go.
  5. Pay conveniently via app.

Note: If you do not have a smartphone, you can also create your VVS Rider user account online via our web registration.

Tips and tricks for booking by telephone

  1. Have a telephone number (preferably a mobile number) ready. Our operator will make a note of this in case of any queries.
  2. Have your email address and name ready for identification purposes.
  3. Tell the operator your desired pick-up and drop-off points and how many people you would like to book for.
  4. Our operator will then give you 1-2 travel options to choose from.
  5. Once you have decided on a travel option, the operator will give you the exact pick-up address, the pick-up time and the registration number of our vehicle. Please make a note of this information.
  6. Please be punctual at the pick-up location. Our drivers can only wait for a short time.
  7. Look out for our vehicle (orange and white vehicles with the VVS Rider emblem) and please make yourself known as soon as you have spotted our vehicle.

All questions & answers

Where will the VVS Rider pick me up?

Unlike taxis, which pick up passengers at their front door, VVS Rider picks up passengers at a nearby location that is easily accessible on foot. The drop-off point is not far from the destination. The service area is defined by a large number of pick-up and drop-off points (known as ‘virtual stops’), which are usually located at intersections, in front of shops, at tourist attractions or at VVS stops. The pick-up and drop-off points, as well as the pick-up and arrival times, are displayed in the app after the start and destination addresses have been entered. When booking by telephone, the information is provided directly over the phone.

Why am I not offered a journey with the VVS Rider everywhere in the service area?

Our VVS Rider is a supplementary service to existing bus and train transport. Wherever there is a reasonably direct connection within walking distance of the starting point to the desired destination with a reasonable waiting time, traditional public transport is just as convenient. Accordingly, no travel option with the VVS Rider is displayed at these points. This is intended in particular to ensure that a service is available for people for whom there is no comparable connection in traditional public transport. On the other hand, for environmental reasons, it is intended to prevent empty buses from running.

Can you only book the VVS Rider in real time, or can you also plan journeys?

The advance booking function allows you to book your VVS Rider journey up to seven days in advance. Once you have entered your starting point and destination, you can ‘plan’ your journey. The VVS Rider app offers a 20-minute pick-up window for your pre-booked journey. You will receive an automated trip reminder the day before, and on the day of pick-up, you will be notified of the exact pick-up time and location 30 minutes before the trip begins

Can I cancel a journey booked with VVS-Rider if necessary?

Yes, you can cancel your journey free of charge until you have started the journey. Once you have entered the vehicle, you can no longer cancel.

Is the VVS Rider accessible?

Yes, the VVS Rider is also accessible. Most vehicles are equipped with a ramp that allows passengers in wheelchairs to board the vehicle. Special safety devices ensure safe transport. A barrier-free journey can be booked directly in the VVS Rider app. To do this, select the option indicating that a wheelchair-accessible vehicle is required in the ‘Passenger settings’ menu item.
