Mobility for all - barrier-free travel with the VVS

Accessibility is important to us because we want to achieve optimal mobility for everyone! We focus just as much on passengers with motor or sensory impairments as we do on people with strollers or heavy luggage.

Barrier-free routing

Our app and the online timetable information give you the option to specifically search for barrier-free connections. The connection search can be adjusted so that, whenever possible, only barrier-free stops are included. You can also always see whether elevators, escalators, ramps, or ground-level access are available at a stop.

Elevator reports
  • On the app’s homepage, under the menu “All VVS Messages”, you will find the sub-item “Elevator Malfunctions”, which lists reports of currently existing disruptions.
  • In addition, under “My Messages” (found on the homepage or in your profile), you can monitor stops to see at a glance whether elevator malfunctions are present. Optionally, you can also choose to be notified about this via push notification.

Barrier-free website

The VVS website is largely suitable for screen readers and keyboard-only operation. The font and screen size can be adjusted to individual visual needs. This means the VVS pages are designed so that as many users as possible can access them without restrictions, and they comply with most of the requirements of the Regulation on the Creation of Accessible Information Technology (BITV).
