How is a fault report created?

Frequently asked questions

What do we report?
  • General events such as strikes or timetable changes that affect a specific area (e.g., a county) or the entire VVS network.
  • Unplanned events that occur spontaneously, e.g., accidents, vehicle breakdowns, infrastructure disruptions, or necessary short-term route closures.
  • Planned events such as diversions due to construction work, timetable changes due to events, and stop relocations.
  • We currently receive information about elevator and escalator malfunctions via an interface from Deutsche Bahn, and the corresponding data from SSB will soon be added.
  • Special services are announced as a list view in the VVS app and on the website.
How are our fault reports structured?
  • Initial report: timely information about the disruption.
  • Main report: detailed information about the event, including the causes, measures taken to remedy the situation, and recommendations for passengers.
  • Final report: confirmation that the disruption has ended.
  • Line-specific, meaning you know exactly which lines are affected.
  • Closed or skipped stops are listed so that you are fully informed.
How are our reports created?
  • The VVS provides a system for recording disruptions and timetable changes in text form and communicating them to passengers.
  • All transport companies create their own reports in this system.
  • This information is distributed to various output channels (VVS app, website, Twitter).
  • Planned events such as route changes due to construction work are announced two days in advance as a push notification via the app and one week in advance by email.
